El cable de categoría 6 consta de 4 pares de cobre aislado sólido de 23 AWG y está listado en UL con una clasificación de resistencia al fuego CM. El cable de categoría 6 proporciona un margen significativo por encima del requisito NEXT mínimo de diafonía de extremo cercano de categoría 6 de ANSI/TIA/EIA-568 e ISO/IEC 11801.
